Home Alone

After a week and a half full of people surround me every moment of the day I am now alone.  Just me and the pets who are oddly quiet today.

This weekend has been planned out for months--we were to go to Puyallup to celebrate Gracie Turners 5th birthday party; an excavation dino theme.  And, then Sunday it is Father's Day. Lunch at the Statemas.  Homemade lasagna from us to Harris.  I've been excited about this weekend for a good three months.  However, we got a surprise vacation thrown in the mix (which I am so thankful for) and thus I ran out of time to work on my dance class. Class starts on Monday so I opted to stay home to work on all the logistical stuff and sent Loren and Grace to Puyallup with out me.  My first time alone without someone since before Grace was born.  Grace was sad leaving.  My heart broke watching her cry as they pulled away. But, to be honest, I am loving this alone time.  I am getting numerous things done off of my to-do list.  And, I ran dance class errands with out having to say "look both ways" or "let's hurry it up" or "please don't lay on the dirty floor of the dollar store." I even gave myself 15 minutes of "free" time to swing into a new store in town called "Pink With Envy" that I now love and will have to frequent more often.  Found 3 shirts (from Gap & Old Navy) for $5 total.  Score.  And, it's better quality than Goodwill.  Double score.

The only things left on my Saturday To-Do list is laundry, dishes, fix my dance class cheat sheet, do a practice run of the dance class with pretend kids (maybe Bailey and the cats will cooperate and join in) and tidy up the mess I've made today.  Not bad.

Sunday will be wonderful.  A day of house cleaning, more dance class prep and I will be getting ready for a father's day dinner.  Going to have a Taco Bar ready for when my two favorite people venture back home and a surprise dessert will await too.

Lot's to be done.
Grateful for this opportunity.

Thank you Greg and Brooke for the use of your truck while my vehicle is in Puyallup.  It made my jaunt down town much easier today. And, it will make my grocery run to FM tomorrow SO much more pleasant. Biking home with groceries didn't sound like much fun.

And, Jennifer-I can not wait to hear all about the birthday party. You are the most creative mom I know. I am sure it will be the party everyone will be talking about for months to come.   Give Gracie a hug and kiss from me.  Tell her I am sorry I couldn't be there today but I promise to take her out for ice cream the next time we come to visit!

And, with that--laundry and dishes are calling my name.....well, maybe it is the scent of the unwashed lasagna dishes from last night that's luring me into the kitchen to do the dishes.  Either way, I'm off.  Determined to be wise with my time.  Can't wait for my dance class to start.

Prayer Request:
I did something terrible to my left shoulder yesterday during Jazzercise.
Not sure what is going on but it hurts terribly to do anything with it.
Not good when I have to be wild and crazy and dance with 3 and 4 year olds on Monday and Tuesday.
Please pray for immediately healing.  This can not get in the way of my class.  I want to give those kids 120%.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
to all the dads out there

What Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,

He called it ... Dad
